Easy Hummus

It’s time to share one of my favourite recipes – Hummus! There are so many food products you can buy ready made in the shops that many opt to buy these over homemade options. However, hummus is one thing (of many) that tastes 100 times better when you make it at home. And so quick and easy to make! Once you try my recipe, you will never go back to shop-bought hummus!

This creamy chickpea dip is perfect with crisp veggies, makes a delicious spread for sandwiches and wraps, and tastes good with almost EVERYTHING. Falafel, Grilled Halloumi, Crisps, Flatbreads, Salads, Grains, the possibilities are endless! And did I mention that the recipe is ready in minutes?

The first step is to drain and wash a can of chickpeas. We go through chickpea cans like mad in my house as we can’t seem to get enough of these protein-packed little nuggets of deliciousness. chickpeas

Put the chickpeas in a food processor and add the rest of the ingredients – a clove of garlic, lemon juice, sesame seeds, chilli flakes, salt + pepper and olive oil.sesame

And then simply whiz it up! Serve with your favourite veggies, grilled halloumi and crisps for an easy protein-packed veggie bowl.

In my haste  to enjoy the hummus I forgot to take a photo of the hummus on its own before I topped it with the colourful veggies. Oops..
